In humid areas, dew quickly settles on flap panels. Closing a wet hood can lead to moisten the inside of the tube and, ultimately, favour the development of mould on the lenses. The V4-EC incorporates a intelligent heating to keep the surface dry, protect your optics and guarantee reproducible flats, night after night.

Does the V4-EC work with ASIAIR?
Yes, with the latest firmware it can be controlled via ASIAIR Plus (via DC output management). See manual for wiring/parameterization.
How can I avoid stripes on my flats?
The controller Enhanced PWM doubles the frequency and eliminates the banding from 0,1 s. Use moderate gain and adjust brightness to aim for a histogram at ~50 %.
What does the encoder do?
It gives a precise angle feedback in real time and ensures repeatability ±0.25 at each opening/closing. You can also define customized angles for your routines.
Can I use it in harsh winters?
Yes, the V4-EC is designed to -25 °C and its reinforced motor prevents gearbox failure in cold weather.
Is heating essential?
In wetlands, it protects your optics and guarantees stable flats. In NINA, control it via the "Device Actions and Commands" plugin.
