Visit Sky-Watcher Evostar 100EDX is a 100 mm apochromatic doublet refractor designed for visual astronomy enthusiasts and demanding astrophotographers. Featuring high-quality optics and meticulous finishing, this new model benefits from a series of much-appreciated mechanical improvements, while retaining a redesigned optical formula with a focal ratio reduced to f/7 for even more versatile use.

Unlike the previous f/9 version, the new Evostar 100EDX adopts a shorter focal ratio of f/7ideal for deep-sky photography. The doublet lens uses Japanese ED Ohara FPL-53a product renowned for its ability to virtually eliminate chromatic aberration.
Thanks to the exclusive MHTC (Metallic High Transmission Coating)Each optical surface offers exceptional light transmission of 99.5 %, ensuring a dark sky background and remarkable sharpness, even at high magnification.
The mechanics have been completely revised with a Crayford 2.8″ dual-speed 11:1 eyepiece holdermounted on a 360° rotating adapter with scale. The sliding mist guard and collars with carrying handle make them easy to use in the field. The tube is made of aluminum with internal light shields for optimum contrast.
Despite its 100 mm aperture, the optical tube (OTA) weighs just 5.5 kg, making it easy to transport and compatible with many equatorial mounts. For astrophotographers, a reducer / corrector 0.92x (ref. 20332, optional) is available to optimize the flat field and reduce exposure time.
