Visit Sky-Watcher STARQUEST-90MC is part of the STARQUEST range, a series specially designed to offer a solution for astronomical observation that is both lightweight, portable and high-performance. Ideal for both beginners and experienced observers looking for an auxiliary instrument, this model combines proven optics with an innovative mount capable of equatorial or azimuthal operation.
The « grab-and-go »The STARQUEST-90MC is easy to install, quick to set up and simple to use, making it ideal for spontaneous observations of the night sky. Its compact design also makes it an excellent choice for travelling, without compromising on image quality.
At the heart of this system is a telescope Maksutov-Cassegrain 90 mm diameter, renowned for its high optical performance. Its long focal length of 1250 mm (f/13.88) provides high magnification and excellent resolution, making it particularly effective for observing lunar details, planets and double stars. Thanks to its fully multi-processed, contrast is improved and images are sharper and brighter.
The primary and secondary mirrors feature the exclusive Radiant™ Aluminum Quartz (RAQ™)guaranteeing reflectivity up to 94%. This treatment not only ensures excellent light transmission, but also great durability over time, enabling optimum performance to be maintained over the long term.
STARQUEST-90MC offers light-gathering capability 26.5% higher than an 80 mm telescope, This means brighter, more detailed images. It comes with two 10 mm and 20 mm, which can achieve magnifications of x62.5 and x125. Its theoretical maximum power of x180 makes it possible to explore celestial objects in even greater depth, under ideal observation conditions.
The STARQUEST frame is another highlight of this set. Designed with a high-quality clutch system, it has a 122-tooth, 360° precision gearing on each axis. This guarantees smooth, precise and jerk-free movements. In equatorial mode, after polar alignment, you can easily track celestial objects with the slow-motion commands on right ascension (RA) and declination (DEC) axes.
This feature is particularly useful for prolonged observation of the planets or as an introduction to astrophotography. In azimuth mode, the mount becomes even more intuitive, offering a quick and accessible grip, ideal for beginners or occasional use.
With a maximum load capacity of 3 kg, the frame provides excellent stability, reinforced by a adjustable aluminium tripod sturdy and lightweight. It features a practical accessory tray to keep eyepieces and other equipment close at hand. A counterweight bar with mass is also included to ensure optimum balancing of the optical tube.
The STARQUEST-90MC comes with a complete set of accessories for immediate use. It includes a Red Dot researcher to facilitate the pointing of celestial objects, a 90° elbow return (1.25″) for enhanced viewing comfort, as well as a universal smartphone adapter. The latter makes it easy to capture images of the Moon or planets directly with a phone, compatible with devices between 54 and 90 mm.
Versatile, high-performance and easy to use, the Sky-Watcher STARQUEST-90MC represents an ideal solution for discovering astronomy or for a compact, reliable instrument. Its unique combination of quality optics, flexible mounting and comprehensive accessories makes it an excellent choice for observing and capturing the wonders of the night sky.
