TS-Optics GSO 10″ RC Pro Carbone Truss 250/2000 - The high-end astrograph

Visit TS-Optics GSO 10″ Ritchey-Chrétien (250 mm, 2000 mm, f/8) with carbon truss tube is a dream instrument for astrophotography. Designed on the same principle as large professional telescopes, it offers a corrected field of view, exceptional focus stability and robust mechanics suitable for heavy setups.

Highlights

  • Genuine Ritchey-Chrétien hyperbolic mirrors → coma-free, flat field.
  • Quartz mirrors (fused silica) stability of focus during thermal variations.
  • Reflectivity 94 % bright image, enhanced contrast, direct signal gain.
  • Carbon truss tube : maximum rigidity, focus that barely varies during long exposure.
  • Primary ventilation + open tube : rapid heat-up.
  • Two Losmandy dovetails sturdy mounting and accessories (guidescope, piggyback).
  • Focuser MONORAIL 3″ rigidity, 360° rotation, fine gearing, high load capacity (~5 kg).
  • Adjustable focuser tilt Focuser and primary decoupled to perfectly correct the perpendicularity of the optical train.

Astrophotography

The 10″ RC makes it possible to operate sensors up to APS-C with no corrector, delivering razor-sharp images. For the full formatIn order to obtain a perfectly flat field, we recommend the use of an RC corrector. With the CCD47 reducer 0.67×the focal length is reduced from 2000 mm to around 1340 mm, and the f/8 ratio to f/5,36reducing exposure time by more than half, while widening the field of view.

Why a carbon truss tube?

The weight reduction is minimal (~500 g), but the focus stability temperature variations is incomparable. The carbon has virtually zero expansion, guaranteeing long, refocus-free sessions. The truss structure maintains collimation perfectly, whatever the position of the telescope, while facilitating ventilation.

The MONORAIL 3″ focuser

An evolution of the classic Crayford, the Monorail 3″ is based on a solid stainless steel slide, preventing tilt even with heavy optical trains. It features a stroke of approx. 80 mm, a clear aperture of 68 mm, a 1:10 gear ratio for fine adjustment, 360° rotation and dedicated threads (M77x0.75 female, M74x0.75 male, M68 internal) for optimum compatibility (correctors, OAG, heavy cameras).

RC vs SCT/Mak advantages

  • No Schmidt blade : less fogging, maximum transmission, near-infrared use possible.
  • Path 100 % reflective no permanent lens, more useful photons for the sensor.
  • No mirror shift : fixed primary, MAP via external focuser → impeccable stability.
